The
4-H program at the Youth Center is starting activities designed for homeschool
youth and adults. These utilize
experiential learning (learning by doing) and are designed to be fun.
All curriculum is university tested and most are keyed to National
Education Standards. Possible
Activities Include: Citizenship Club
Find ways to help the community such as food drives, visiting Senior Centers, Peer Reading and Animal Shelter Work Days Web Team
Learn how to design and maintain a website GPS Club
Learn how to use a GPS to find geocahes while having fun hiking Computer Software Club
Learn how computers work and how to use office productivity software. Cooking Club
Have fun following recipes to make full lunch menus and then eat your
creations. Entomology Club
Collect, identify and dissect creepy crawly things that are around us. Biology Science Club
Play with microscopic cells and take care of small animals. Physics Science Club
Build and play with models that show the forces around us. Outdoor Adventures: Nature Club
Come out into the woods and find out what is there. Indoor Tennis Club
Bring your racquet or use ours and get good at one of the favorite
pastimes of the rich and famous. |
