The McGuire Falcons 4-H Robotics Club is composed of youth from ages 6 to 18.  Using Lego Mindstorms and Lego Dacta kits, we are learning about scientific principles while having fun.  As part of the First Lego League (FLL), we will be competing in the US FIRST robotics competitions. The Falcons 4-H Robotics Club provides youth with a unique, hands-on experience working on a real engineering project

The FIRST (For Inspirations and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition is a national engineering contest that immerses high school students in the exciting world of engineering. Teaming up with engineers from businesses and universities, students get a hands-on, inside look at the engineering profession. In six intense weeks, students and engineers work together to brainstorm, design, construct, and test their "champion robot". With only six weeks, all jobs are critical path. The teams then compete in a spirited, no-holds-barred tournament complete with referees, cheerleaders, and time clocks.

If you enjoy building things with Legos, you’ll love the Mindstorms set.  Using motors, sensors and a programmable brain, you can make your model do almost anything.  Our club meets once a week during the 4-H Computer Club time from 1900 to 2000 on Tuesdays and one Saturday per month.
